A Two-Year-Olds Birthday

Last week was our daughter’s second birthday. At first, my mind was blank. What kind of activities can you do at a two year olds party? I looked around on pinterest and came up with some ideas.

The theme was Curious George. For decorations, we came up a big fat zero for George at the party stores. The awesome thing about George is that you can find a lot of coloring and activity pages online. I did a google search, and found table confetti with the different characters from the PBS series. Here is a link to the confetti.

I also found a Curious George mask online. We went to the dollar tree and got a Happy Birthday banner with an appropriate color scheme and I colored two masks. I cut those out, and at the party hung one on each end of the banner. That took care of decorations.

Back to activities. I took the same Curious George mask. By altering it a little, I was able to make coloring pages for the kids to make into a paper bag puppet. After they colored, I put the puppets together myself. (We had a small party. For a bigger party, it might be better to let the parents help the kids assemble the puppets at home). You can find a pre-colored mask at pbs.org. The one I used which is not colored is from pinterest.

My daughter loves playing with balls. We got a few beach balls and had them at the party. The kids really enjoyed playing with them.

My back up activity, which I didn’t use, was I made a dice with an action on each side. They were simple actions such as clap, blow a kiss, jump. (I tested these with my daughter beforehand to make sure she knew how to do everything).
